Located in the smartest and most exclusive part of the city centre, just a few metres from the Spanish Steps, Via Margutta is known as the artistic heart of the city of Rome, an area in which art galleries and fashionable restaurants have jostled for attention ever since the 1950s when the narrow lane was chosen as the set of Roman Holiday and the local residents included Federico Fellini, Renato Guttuso and Giorgio De Chirico.
Not far from Via Margutta lies Via Condotti, one of the most famous shopping streets in the world, a showcase of Italian and European fashions.
Close enough to all the most famous tourist attractions of Rome that they can be reached on foot, Via Margutta is perfectly located for holiday makers wishing to dine in the romantic atmosphere of the Spanish steps or drink an aperitif in the Antico Caffè Greco, the bar traditionally frequented by the scholars, artists and writers of Rome. |
